Club notes
Thank you
Thank you to the players, the mentors and all the management team and also to you the people of Ballinamore who joined us on this exciting journey over the last weeks and months

It may have been a tough end and a tough result for the lads, they gave it their all on the pitch, they stood tall and worked hard as a team and were so close, to say they left it all on the pitch is an understatement, they certainly deserved more but that’s football.

To say we are proud of them is also an understatement, the energy they have brought to the community and club has been electric they’ve lifted the town high this last week and have brought us all on a fantastic journey with them.

The time these lads have given up, the effort they have put in has been phenomenal and we are all truly grateful to have been part of this.

They are one of the finest group of young men that I know they have done so much for our young players and supporters and even on the pitch as we tried to comfort them, they were taking time to comfort our young fans.

It’s not the end to the championship that we had longed for and the wait goes on for another year, we are certainly closer than at any time in that period and it’s a difficult day for the team and for the fans.

To say we went close is an understatement, there are fine margins at this level and today the margins did not go our way and that’s football and on this occasion Glencar Manor have won and we wish them well as they progress to Connacht as worthy Leitrim representatives and hopefully next year we will get another opportunity to take them on.

Hopefully the players and management know how proud we are of them even in defeat, we know you gave it your all on the pitch and we hope that you will bring us on another journey next year.

We remember the defeat in the Intermediate final and how you came back the following year to win, we have faith in you and will be behind you each step of the way, you are the best of us and the pride of Ballinamore and always will be.

Thanks lads for a great run dust yourselves down and drive on.

Well done

A big well done to James Dillon and Seán Harte from our nursery team who represented the club on finals day. The lads took part in a half time game and waved the teams onto the pitch, they were fantastic ambassadors for the club, hopefully both boys will grace the turf on many occasions in the future. Well done boys
