Our u17 were in action last Friday in the championship final against St Mary’s. The game ended in a draw and will be replayed this Friday in Carrick at 1800, your support would be greatly appreciated for the lads in what promises to be another excellent match between two great teams.

McGovern Leitirm Centre of Excellence Opening

Saturday was A great day for all Leitrim GAA players and fans as the County Officially opened the McGovern Leitrim GAA centre of Excellence. The day started off with representatives of all the clubs playing in blitz’s to commentate the opening of this Leitrim show piece. Our club were well represented by Colton Quinn, Jacob McTague, Luke Maguire and Robbie Prior who played in three matches. All of the children got to meet the President of The GAA John Horan who took time to mingle and take pictures with all the children before doing the official business of opening the fantastic new facilities which are a credit to Leitrim GAA hopefully these new facilities will help club and county improve over the coming years. Leitrim Abu !!!

Oughteragh Ladies

Hard luck to the Senior ladies who were defeated in the semi final yesterday against St. Joseph’s.
Even though the game didn’t go our way, we can’t thank our supporters enough. It was the largest crowd we have had in a long time and long may it continue!
Our Junior team are now in a semi-final against Drumkeeran in two weeks.
As the year begins to come to a close we want to say a big thank you to Rory O’Rourke, Tommy Dolan and Siobhan Early for all your effort put in this year, it is really appreciated by each and every one of the girls.

Recent Deaths

Éamon Dolan from Lisnatullagh died recently in Trim. Éamon played for Ballinamore in the 1958 and 1959 Senior County finals, both of which we lost. Sympathy is extended to all of the Dolan and O’Neill families at this time.

Sympathy also to the McTiernan family, Oughteragh on the passing of Joseph who was a selector on the senior team from 1970 – 1981.

The passing has also occurred of Betty Galligan, sister of the legendary Thomas Galligan, Betty was responsible for providing the Galligan cup which was for at the reopening of Páirc Sheáin Uí Eislin in 2009

Everyone at the club would like to pass on our condolences to the families and friends of those that have passed é
